Celina's Closet: Basic Outfit

I have a confession to make. I am obsessed with character customization. It takes me about an hour or so to settle on a look for any game that allows it. The Secret World is no exception.

As it happens, TSW is a game where I can customize my character endlessly, allowing me to change my character's outfits however and whenever I want. With the clothing available from the in-game store, the achievement rewards, and the Item Shop, I've already created about a dozen looks for myself. I fear what the announced updates for character customization (barber shop, tattoo parlor, and plastic surgeon) will do to me.

The Secret World is like The Sims on crack.

I've decided to start a series of posts dedicated to the outfits I create in TSW, like a look book of sorts for my character. Since Celina "Xunre" Cross is my main avatar, I'm calling the series Celina's Closet. And so, without further ado, here's the first outfit pic:

This is the outfit I started with from Early Access. I know this is a very basic look, but I try to pick out clothes that I would actually wear in real life. I chose a very simple black camisole, blue boot-cut jeans, a dress coat, and a pair of red Chucks (a staple in real life). I later ditched the camisole for the shirt that came with the pre-order, but this is the outfit I was running with until I got the faction uniform, and until I had enough money to buy new clothes.

In future posts, I will be showing off more of the outfits I created using clothes from both Pangaea and the Item Shop, and how I try to make the clothing rewards work with the pieces I already have. :)

  1. You, too? Whenever I start new games, I always wind up breaking past the excitement of wanting to play by spending entirely too much time on the character creation screen that I will sometimes forget that yes, I am playing a game, and no, I haven't even actually started playing yet.

    1. Yep! I got logged out of SWTOR several times due to 'inactivity' because it took me forever to customize my character, and that game didn't even let me choose what I wanted to wear. Often, I'd think: "oh, I like this hairstyle, but it looks better with blond hair.: Then I'd switch to blond hair, then think: "this doesn't really go with the makeup I chose." So I go back and change the makeup, and then say: "I think this will look better with a different hairstyle."

I actually had to re-roll my first avatar on TSW because I didn't like the way she looked in cutscenes. I've finally settled on a look that I liked, and now with the announced updates, I'm thinking: "I should change my hair." So yeah, character customization is a game in itself for me.

  2. You should try APB.. I boot it up from time to time just to play around with the character creator, no gameplay just making weird and wacky characters

    1. Thanks for the suggestion :) I'll check it out some time.
