Celina's Closet: The Agent

Note: When I wrote this post, I haven't bought the Original Gangster outfit yet. This look would be better with the shoes from that set, methinks.

Another favorite look that I've created in TSW which I lovingly call "The Agent". I wanted a corporate badass look to match the outfit Dante bought with the bonus points (he bought the Industrial Revolution outfit) we got from the celebration weekend and this is what I came up with.

Fan Art: Rose White

Just some fan art I made of Rose White while I was testing out Procreate on the new iPad. I didn't really have any reference photos at the time (and had no internet connection) when I made this so it doesn't really look quite like her but I drew her as best as my memory served me.

Full image after the jump.

Comic: Andy is Overpowered

I remember reading a thread on The Secret World forums once, discussing how Deputy Andy was overpowered (since he can kill zombies with one shot), and I thought it was funny, so I made a strip around the idea.

Comic Extra: Mesquite Beans Flyer

Thought it'd be nice to share the original "Mesquite Beans: Texas Style" flyer from yesterday's strip. If I was still on the Slow-Carb diet (see: Tim Ferris), and if this was available in our country, I'd probably be eating this all the time.

Good News, Everyone!

(I always wanted to say that.)

The Error Quest comic now has a regular updating schedule of every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00AM on the GMT+8 timezone.

We're also bringing back an old webcomic that I made several years ago, also about gaming, called Draw Write Play. These won't be new strips, and they are also very dated, but we feel that they are still relevant to our history as gamers and cartoonists so we're giving them a new home. DWP will have an updating schedule of every Saturday at 12:00AM on the GMT+8 timezone starting next week.

We'll be introducing some non-TSW content to the site over time because there's a lot of other things we'd like to share. As much as we love The Secret World, there's also a ton of other games, comics, TV shows and movies that we're very passionate about. We hope you'll stick around; we have lots more in store for the future!

Comic: How Disassembling Tacos Really Works

When I first heard that you can disassemble tacos into nachos in The Secret World, I thought people were just kidding. I tried it for myself one time, and was fairly amused.

The Error Quest Tumblr Page

To Innsmouth Academy
Remember what we said about us acting like tourists in The Secret World? Well, in case you guys haven't noticed yet, we also have a Tumblr page where we post most of the screenshots that we take in the game. My post queue kinda fell short this week, but we'll be posting new screenshots again on a daily basis next week.

Celina's Closet: The Red Belted Skirt

Before I realized that I could preview items on my avatars before buying them from the cash shop, I had already bought a few items, some of which I had a hard time matching with anything.

One of those items is a red belted skirt. This is one of the looks I managed to create with it, though looking back at this screenshot, I'm not sure I'm too fond of the show of belly, at least with this skirt.

By now, you've probably noticed I like keeping a red, black, and white theme for my Templar, though I'm likely going to try out playing with more colors soon (I think I might have already bought all the red, black, and white pieces that I like).

I'm also looking forward to the barber/salon update, as I'm thinking my red hair might not go so well with other colored outfits.

Flashback: The Secret World Teaser Trailers

If you've been reading this blog since the very beginning, you may recall me saying that when I first heard about The Secret World, I was absolutely convinced that I would hate it. Of course, back then, I'd never seen any of the fantastic trailers that came out months (if not years) before the game launched. Dante sent me the links to the videos last night and my reaction to him was: "Why have you never shown me these before? I wouldn't have bitched about the game so much if you did!"

The only videos I'd ever seen of The Secret World prior to last night were gameplay trailers and the Cynical Brit's video reviews of TSW during beta. I might be alone in my obliviousness to these wonderful trailers, but for the benefit of people who are in the same boat I was in, here are the four teaser trailers, in order, courtesy of Mahalo:

I tell you, these sent chills up my spine when I watched them.

Comic: For the Achievements!

So, we've heard a rumor that if you eat 7,460 tacos in The Secret World, you get an achievement. In the real world, though...

Error Questing: The Casual Dungeoneers

When you're fighting evil, you get your rest whenever and wherever you can.
Dante and I like taking our time in The Secret World. At the time of this writing, we've just finished the first major storyline mission, "Dawning of an Endless Night," which seems to be just the beginning of our journey.

It's not that we haven't been spending significant time on the game; we do, actually. However, we also do a lot of tiny things in the game that take up a significant chunk of our playtime: listening to every single NPCs' lines of dialog; repeating quests for AP/SP; scrutinizing the ability wheel and trying to build the perfect decks for tanking and DPS; chatting with the people on the South East Asian (#SEA) channel; doing dungeon runs with friends and strangers alike; looking for lore in all the wrong places; and being complete tourists, taking screenshots of absolutely everything.

Our play style is very casual, and we like it that way. For us, endgame is still probably months away, and with the monthly updates adding new quests all the time, it looks like we won't be running out of things to do anytime soon.

Xunre's Problems

A sequel to Ven's Problems. If you're wondering why Xunre keeps changing her hairstyle, it's because the artist (moi) is still trying to figure out how best to draw her. We might have a winner here, though.

Celina's Closet: Classy

This is currently my favorite outfit in The Secret World. I've been running with this look for several days now and I'm still not tired of it, so I decided to bump this post up my queue of outfit posts.

Xunre is wearing the hat and shoes from the Original Gangster set, the skirt and gloves from the Silver Bullet set, and some items from Pangaea. The loop earrings are also from the Item Shop. More photos after the jump.

Pangaea: The Scariest Place to Bring Your Girlfriend to in The Secret World

This is a strip created by our friends Candy and Altair. We loved it so much we asked if we could post it on our blog. I think the title and the photos are pretty much self explanatory. :)

Ven's Problems

Ven and I usually play as a duo, and sometimes we run into problems. A quick shout out to Drakkashi who gave us permission to use a screenshot of his TSW Ability Wheel. It's a great site for deck building when you're not logged into TSW, so please do check it out! :)

Celina's Closet: Celebration Weekend Outfit

Ven photo-bombing in the background.
The celebration weekend rewarded us with more bonus points, and these are the clothes we picked up.

Ven is wearing the complete Industrial Revolution set while Xunre is wearing the Silver Bullet set, minus the shoes, plus a black vintage leather jacket and my favorite chunky boots.

The Art of Fighting: Captain Hammertime

A visual bug where it looks like I'm carrying two hammers. I would, too, if there was a point to carrying the same weapon type in both hands.
At the start of playing The Secret World, I was initially drawn to building the Paladin deck, for the sole reason that I like how the outfit looks like. At the Crucible, I picked up the blade since I already tried using pistols during beta, and it was the other weapon requirement for the Paladin deck. I didn't know that I could go back to the Crucible and pick up another weapon before venturing out to Kingsmouth, so I got my pistols after finishing some of the early quests in the game.

Falling

One thing that I noticed in TSW is that you take no damage when you fall from high places (the treehouse, for example). This was a controversial topic on the TSW forums for a while, but it was a good surprise for me and Dante because one of the things we enjoy the most is exploring the game world, and it's nice to not accidentally die from a misstep.

Celina's Closet: Punk Rock

The image above is what I currently use as a cover photo for my Facebook timeline. It's one of the earliest outfits I created, and I was running with it for quite some time in The Secret World after I bought my first 2400 Funcom points (worth 20 Euro).
